Howard Pavalacky started Gull Lake Lumber in 1970 as a local sawmill. Gull Lake Lumber slowly change for a sawmill toward a lumber supply yard and for a short time a window maker.  In April of 1986 Bill Mattson Sr. purchased Gull Lake Lumber.  In 1988 the name was changed to Mattson Lumber Company.  In 1986 there were 4 full time employees, today we have 20 full time employees.

Fueled by the local economy, good employees, and relationships with the area's finest builders we have had impressive growth.
